I just finished a first draft recently.
Five months, six composition books, twelve pencils, and a mild case of tendonitis.
Time to start revising.

An Important Location
An important location for teenage romantics and secret warlocks.
Brick
Long before he exasperated millions of Star Wars fans, Rian Johnson made “Brick”, a superb high-school crime film.
I appreciated the hermetic, no-adults-in-sight tone of the movie, and tried to incorporate some of that into Lords of Air and Darkness.
Young Adults
A couple of books that taught me a lot about writing for “young adults.”
No warlocks in either one, though. I had to figure that part out for myself.
Coffee House
This was my model for the Planet Caravan coffee house in Air and Darkness. In my world, references to the Beatles are often replaced with references to Black Sabbath.
